Shaw's season came to an end in the Division I state quarterfinals losing the No.2 seed Byrd 24-0. Byrd jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on a 45-yard touchdown run from Louis Mills and a 65-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Howard to Jordan Powell. Scoring touchdowns on four consecutive first half possesions propelled Holy Cross to a 27-13 win over Catholic in the Division I state quarterfinals. Todd Spriggins started the scoring barrage with a 25-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. After falling into a 14-0 hole, Rummel fought back and picked up a 17-14 road playoff win at Scotlandville. Some observances about the reuniting of the New Orleans Catholic League:           Regardless of team records, Catholic League football was welcomed back by large, enthusiastic fans.
