Jesuit defeats Rummel in Division I Semifinals 28-14

Jesuit will be playing in the state championship game for the first time since 1978 after defeating Catholic League rival Rummel 28-14 in the Division I semifinals. Trey LaForge led the way for the Blue Jays passing for 224 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Chris Mills led Jesuit in rushing with 97 yards. Rummel wide receiver David Hensley has been named the Nolacatholicleague.com/Buckwalter Insurance Player of the Week. Hensley caught four passes; two for touchdowns in the Raiders 35-6 win over St. Aug. Hensley’s touchdowns both came early in the third quarter and jump-started the Rummel offense. Charles Jackson scores three touchdowns helping Jesuit to a 56-7 win over Holy Cross in the oldest rivalry in the state. Chris Mills rushed for 116 yards on 15 carries and Trey LaForge was 14-18 for 236 yards passing and 2 touchdown passes. Jesuit is now 5-1 overall while Holy Cross slips to 4-2. Brother Martin running backs Jared West and Bruce Jordan-Swilling combined for 4 rushing touchdowns and Jordan-Swilling added a pick-six as the Crusaders moved to 6-0 rolling past St. Aug 41-29 in both team's district opener. Brother Martin sophomore running back/linebacker Bruce Jordan-Swilling has been named the Nolacatholicleague.com/Buckwalter Player of the Week after his two-way performace in helping the Crusaders to a 41-29 win over St. Aug. Jordan-Swilling rushed for 90 yards on 8 carries including a pair of touchdowns on offense. Chase Fourcade scores 3 rushing touchdowns, passes for three more, top ranked Rummel moves to 6-0, beating Shaw 56-14 in both team's district opener.The Raiders scored touchdowns in each of their seven first-half possesions, the first two of which were set up by Andre Danove intercpetions.
