By Michael Hotard The Jesuit Blue Jays football team captured the Division I state title Friday night, defeating the national powerhouse John Curtis Patriots in a 17-­14 showdown at the Mercedes Benz Superdome. Jesuit defeats Rummel in Division I Semifinals 28-14

Jesuit will be playing in the state championship game for the first time since 1978 after defeating Catholic League rival Rummel 28-14 in the Division I semifinals. Trey LaForge led the way for the Blue Jays passing for 224 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Chris Mills led Jesuit in rushing with 97 yards.
