Jesuit pulled away from a narrow 20-13 lead early in the fourth quarter on its way to a 34-13 win over Escambia on Friday night at Tad Gormley Stadium.
Leading by a touchdown, the Blue Jays began to distance themselves from the Pensacola-based Gators on a 2-yard run by Michael Torry in the fourth quarter to make it 27-13.
A Willie Robinson touchdown with a minute left in the game iced the 34-13 victory for Jesuit.
Jesuit (2-1) produced three russhing touchdowns but got its first score on a 19-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Alex Watermeier to Ashton Loria on the Blue Jays' opening possession.
A 3-yard run by Connor Prouet to cap an 88-yard drive extended the Blue Jays’ lead to 14-0.
Jake Chanove kicked the first of his two field goals in the game to help Jesuit take a 17-6 halftime lead over Escambia (1-3).
