Paul Klein and Brother Martin are on the verge of winning a fourth consecutive state championship after impressive opening round victories.

So far so good for Brother Martin in its quest for a fourth straight team title, and for Crusaders 132 pound wrestler Paul Klein who is looking to make history this weekend at the LHSAA wrestling state championships.

No Louisiana Division I wrestler in the modern era (1970) has won four individual state titles, Klein is two wins away from becoming the first.

Brother Martin advanced 11 of its 14 wrestlers into the semifinals which will begin at the Ponchrtrain Center in Kenner Saturday morning at 10:30.

Heading into the semifinals here are the team totals for Division I:

1) Brother Martin      183
2) Jesuit                    156
3) Holy Cross            154
6) Rummel                123

Klein’s quarterfinal pin and reaction can be seen on the above video.
