Holy Cross quarterback Chander Fields accounted for three first-half touchdowns as the Tigers jumped out to a 21-0 halftime lead on their way to a 35-18 non-district win at Bogalusa on Friday night to close out the regular season.
The Tigers (3-7) got their first score on a short touchdown run by Fields to cap a 60-yard drive.
A 39-yard pass from Fields to Kym Wimberly gave the Tigers a 14-0 lead after one quarter.
Fields tossed a 29-yard touchdown pass to Nolan Heitmeier early in the second quarter to give Holy Cross its 21-0 halftime lead.
Holy Cross, which snapped a five-game losing streak, added two more touchdowns in the second half.
A 4-yard touchdown run by Ashton Smith in third quarter extended the Tigers’ lead to 28-0.
The Tigers’ final score came early in the fourth quarter on a 2-yard run by Cleven Hulbert.
Bogalusa (1-9) countered with three touchdowns in the second half.
The Lumberjacks’ first score came on a 13-yard pass from quarterback Jay Baham to Tramarcus Turner.
Baham and Thomas hooked up from 17 yards early in the fourth quarter for Bogalusa’s final touchdown. Baham added a 32-yard run to account for the 35-18 final.
