Two third-quarter touchdowns by Brother Martin running back Bruce Jordan-Swilling allowed the Crusaders to pull away from Jesuit in a 28-10 victory over the Blue Jays in Catholic League action Friday at Zephyr Field.

Brother Martin (7-3 overall, 4-2 in District 9-5A) led 7-3 at halftime before Jordan-Swilling scored on a 1-yard run to extend the Crusaders’ lead to 14-3.

Jordan-Swilling, who rushed for 116 yards, added a 14-yard touchdown run later in the third quarter to make it 21-10.

Jesuit (5-5 overall, 2-4 in district) countered with its only touchdown of the game on a 15-yard run by Connor Prouet less than a minute into the fourth quarter to pull the Blue Jays to within 21-10 but that was as close as they would get.

Brother Martin quarterback John-Paul Pierce scored on an 11-yard run with less than two minutes left in the game for the 28-10 final.

The first of three Jordan-Swilling touchdown runs, this one from a yard out, provided the only scoring of the first quarter as Brother Martin took a 7-0 lead.

Jake Chanove kicked a 40-yard field goal at the end of the second quarter to make it 7-3 at halftime.
