Rummel produced more than 450 yards of total offense while scoring four passing touchdowns and three rushing as the Raiders overwhelmed Wayne County 50-13 Saturday at Joe Yenni Stadium.

The Raiders remained unbeaten at 3-0 while Wayne County, the defending Class 5A champions in Mississippi, fell to 0-4.

The passing duo of Rummel quarterback Jacob Palma and receiver JaMarr Chase had a big night. Palma and Chase hooked up on three touchdown passes. Palma’s other touchdown toss was the receiver Evan Francioni.

Palma also scored on a 1-yard run for one of Rummel’s three rushing touchdowns.

Most of the scoring came in the first two quarters as the Raiders built a 41-7 halftime lead.

Interceptions by Rummel’s Andre Danove set up the Raiders’ first two touchdowns – a 16-yard run by Dwan Trufant and a 4-yard score by Keirell Jackson.

Rummel’s special teams also contributed to the win when a snap over the head of the War Eagles’ punt went through the back of the end zone for a safety.

Wayne County quarterback ZaBryon Jackson factored in both of the War Eagles touchdowns. He hooked up with receiver Will Mangum on a 60-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Jackson scored on a 20-yard run with less than a minute remaining in the game to account for the 50-13 final.
