Jesuit running back Connor Prouet accounted for six touchdowns as the Blue Jays cruised to a 56-21 non-district win over Franklin on Friday night at Tad Gormley Stadium.
Prouet had four rushing touchdowns in the first half and a 19-yard touchdown catch. He added a touchdown run in the second half.
Jesuit (5-4) built 21-point lead after one quarter and lead by 35 points at halftime.
The Blue Jays took a 7-0 lead on a 6-yard run by Prouet. After an Ashton Loria punt return down to the Franklinton 2-yard line, Prouet scored again for a quick 14-0 lead.
A blocked punt by Jesuit’s Matt McMahon gave the Blue Jays a 21-0 after the ball rolled into the Demons’ end zone.
After a 5-yard touchdown run by Prouet, another blocked punt – this one by Cameron Crozier – was returned 24 yards to set up a 1-yard run by Prouet and a 35-0 Jesuit lead.
Franklinton (4-5) finally got on the scoreboard on a 16-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tahj Magee to Darius Dawson.
Prouet responded with his only non-rushing touchdown of the game on a 19-yard reception from quarterback Denny McGinnis to give the Blue Jays a 42-7 halftime lead.
Each team scored twice in the second half, including a 2-yard run by Prouet. With many of his scores coming for short distances, Prouet finished with 91 yards on the ground on 18 attempts.
Magee and Dawson hooked up on touchdowns of 4 and 12 yards to account for the 56-21 final.
