Rummel standout swimmer Thomas Vanderbrook has signed a letter-of-intent to attend Indiana University choosing the Hoosiers over LSU and Texas A&M.
In each of the past two seasons, Vanderbrook has won the Division I State Championship in both the 200 IM and 100 Backstroke. His winning time in the 200 IM last season as a junior set the state record.
This season Vanderbrook set the Allstate Sugar Bowl Metro Swimming Championships meet record in the 200 IM with a time of 1.54.33. His personal best in the 200 IM is 1.50.78.
"I think Thomas is going to fit in at one of the best programs in the country," said Rummel swimming coach Joe Fritsher. "Out of the three schools he was considering, I think he picked the right one for him."
