A fast start can make all the difference in a game, and such was the case for top-seeded Rummel in their Division I semifinal win over No. 4 Brother Martin.
The Raiders stormed out to a 23-7 lead in the first half that eventually ballooned to 37-7 on the first play of the fourth quarter after a 15-yard touchdown run by senior running back Jaelen Sturgis, which was his third score of the night.
Brother Martin battled back with three straight touchdowns on their last three possessions, but the outcome had already been decided as Rummel picked up a late first down to hold on for the win.
