The Louisiana High School Athletic Association announced a partnership with Varsity Sports Now (VSN) as an additional streaming partner for LHSAA championship events.

VSN Louisiana is Louisiana’s first OTT (Over-the-Top) subscription video streaming service specializing in broadcasting over 250 Louisiana high school athletic events a year.

“The LHSAA is excited to offer live video streaming for sports that have never been streamed before. We are glad to now be able to offer streaming services for almost every sport in our association,” said Eddie Bonine LHSAA Executive Director.

The partnership includes streaming of state championship events including powerlifting, gymnastics, tennis, golf, select baseball semifinals, non-select and select softball semifinal, state All-Star events of girls’ basketball and softball. The deal also includes any other events that are mutually agreed upon between the LHSAA and VSN.

State championship, semifinals and All-Star events already live streamed for the LHSAA include swimming, volleyball semifinals, baseball semifinals and the volleyball state All-Star game.

VSN Louisiana was founded in 2018 by veteran broadcast journalist Eric Richey. VSN Louisiana connects fans to their teams with programming that includes professionally produced live games, docuseries, and written journalism found at VSN-owned River Parish Football and Nola Catholic League websites.

“There is nothing more compelling to athletes, students, family members, alumni, school employees, and fans than seeing the pursuit of a state championship. All too often those special moments are missed and not shared because of travel and other circumstances. We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with the LHSAA to expand our live streaming to state championships and semifinal events that otherwise might not have been covered,” said Richey.

Richey’s 30 years of experience in sports broadcasting, sponsorship sales, and production has been pivotal in VSN Louisiana’s early success that includes the successful production of more than 100 prep football games and 20 volleyball games this past fall, sponsorship deals with over 50-plus companies, and an Emmy nomination for VSN Louisiana’s docuseries ‘The Pursuit’.

“VSN Louisiana is excited to build upon the success we had with the LHSAA live-streaming baseball and volleyball semifinals as well as the swimming State Championships last November. We see this as a significant opportunity in growing our relationship with LHSAA to ensure that more fans can follow these pivotal compelling contests,” Richey added.

All of VSN’s rich library of content, including more than 1,000 on-real-time demand videos can be found at VSNLouisiana.com and can be accessed by becoming a subscriber at $9.99 a month. All LHSAA championship videos can also be found on the LHSAA LIVE app and website.
